Here’s one for the chocolate lovers among you:
isa’s spontaneously made up sheer chocolate frappé
(Not recommended for people who like milk chocolate for this is not a sweet drink! Aimed clearly at lovers of darkest chocolate like myself.)
Ingredients:
- cacao powder (I use German cacao powder, i.e. it’s not alkalized and there’s not a shred of sugar in it!)
- milk
- shavings of good dark chocolate (I used 80% cacao chcolate … well, I would have used but I forgot to throw them in for the photos. Whoops.)
- whipped cream
- dark chocolate sauce (I like the Les sauces de Monin one.)
- coffee syrup, if you want some addiotional flavour (I like to use hazelnut syrup.)
- crushed ice
In advance, cook about 50ml of milk with a lot of cacao powder to make a concetrated form of chocolate milk. Chill until it’s almost about to freeze.
Fill the glass you’re planning to use with ice cubes, crush them (or use pre-crushed ice) and put them in a blender. Pour over the chocolate milk over them, add syrup if you want. Blend until it has a nice smoothie-like structure.
Gently fold the chocolate shavings under the blended frappé, then pour into glass.
Top with whipped cream, topped with a whirl of dark chocolate sauce.
Serve freshly with a straw and enjoy :)
Shamelessly reblogging one of the editors that run this blog :D (Or rather, forget to run this blog.)
